OMG this is over two years old! and its a SCRAP!
NO MORE COMMENTS about how wrong i was and how dead they are/eaten/starved/WHATEVER!!!!
STOP TELLING ME GRUESOME STORIES about how they will now be mangled in some horrible way because i touched them. They were in my BEDROOM, nesting amongst my soft toys and giving me asthma, not in the wild! OF COURSE I TOUCHED THEM! I didnt even know they were there till they were in the ants!
I'm so sick of comments telling me off for having touched them!!! Im sick of know-alls commenting on something that was supposed to be a kind act!! So what? Leave them to be torn apart by ants? NO THANK YOU! To those who would tell me off, YOU sit and listen to baby mice being eaten alive, not for me thanks. I'll stick to doing the best i can to at least ease a creatures death, rather than be cold and uncaring, and leave them to something i wouldn't like. (Imagine being torn apart, while alive, by a pack of dogs!)

ok so, theres a mouse plauge in the town at the moment, because of how dry it is out bush. To boot, my dad has taken to leaving his bedrooms french door open all night, for weeks. Aka, we now have a house infested with mice
(yet he STILL says its my fault cos of my bin... barring the fact that my bin is one of 5 in the house ) anyways. :F so, i finally decided to make sure the mouse nest wasnt anywhere in my room. My room is kinda chockas at the moment, because i'm awaiting a lounge room extention. Anyhoo, so today i get sick of it, and decide to totally clean out my drawers. Lots of mouse poop on my clothes (which i have spent all day so far washing now) but no nest. Wardrpobe upended, shoes emptied out. No nest. Chest of bedside drawers full of paper stuff emptied out. no nest. Novels box emptied out, full of paper work for my novels. No nest.
Pulled out the bag of sentimental stuffed toys from under my bed. No nest. Emptied out the toys, separated to keep and not to keep,
and to wash lol, shook out the bag into the garden because it was littered with chewed paper from the mice, and went back inside.
o_O it was then i heard... the squeaking
actually to start with i thought it was my puppy chewing on a chew toy, but then i saw her and she wasnt :F then i discovered that there in the garden, was a handful of bald, blind, helpless little baby mice 
in the sun, with the ants preparing to tear them apart, and already crawling all over them! Well. Call me silly (and i really do blame the female nurturing instinct here :F ) but i rescued them. I picked the ants off every little leg, and let them rest in my hand, which they seemed to like, nice and warm i guess. Then i figured I'd put them outside in a predator safe nesty thing so mumma could come find them, and stay out. xD :F so i gathered out of my bin all the mouse nest mess i had swept up, and put it in a lil round tin i had, then i put the babies inside. They seemed happy-not a squeak, they went right back to sleep . Then i sticky-taped the lid on so only the mother mouse could get inside, and put it outside my room, in a niche where she should be happy to go. Meanwhile i cleaned out everywhere so there is no place for her to re-nest in my room :F
My boyfriend said i should take a photo of the babies and put it up on deviantart
so here they are. 
MOUSE BABIES!
and no, i'm not feeding them to a snake/dog/cat/bird/any other predator, and no, i cant keep wild mice as pets, plus i am allergic to them. And no i couldnt give them to someone else
{update} Babies are gone
the makeshift nest was found empty that night, with no sign that anything bigger than a mouse got to them, and no mess whatsoever, so it looks like mumma came and got her babies and took them elsewhere ! yay for mouse babies
