I was after a certain look in this: theres the ruins, and the ship wreck, where so much life had been, and was now gone... but it has been replaced with the life of the sea- coral, living structures, fish, and endless forms of life how populate these places where men once were. There is still a human presence however, one that can traverse both worlds, of sea, and of man: the mermaids. At peace, and playing in the garden of her world.

Technical stuffs :
The background: this is a matte painting, (photographs painted into one cohesive scene or work of art) completed with photos from morguefile.com and from my own stick collection.
The mermaid: Poser5 figure, morphed to my own design, and later manipulated in photoshop to make her face even more distinctive, and painted her eyes and lips again.
Her hair was painted in photoshop.
Her fin was completely created in photoshop. I erased the poser models legs, and painted the fin myself, then used a texture i have in my stock to complete her fins. [people always ask how i did their fins]
