Artist's Comments    smoochins! omg lucys in love   well... ok yeah sort of... but mostly i saw a pose and went  heeey if i did this and this and that i could make that my mermaid and pirate... and and and...  its for my ~angelofyang, OF COURSE so i did it Only spent a couple of days on it too o.o! normally i spend like two weeks. Figures neh? when i am on a time limit i cant get it done... when its open ended i do it fast.  whats with that? enyhooooooLilea and Aidan both (c) me. This is my second proper attempt at matte painting a background its under painting and airbrushing though, rather than photomanipulation because they are the focus and they are entirely airbrushed.Oh..and i had two more things i was going to do to it but i dont know if i can find the right tools for it :F so i have submitted  might change later Photoshop cs2 My stock photos, and the building courtesy of ~Gvh-stock  Time: few days. [edit] changed a fair few things. I wasnt happy with it before- seemed kind of bland, and i had forgotten several key things :F Added damage to the roofs of the buildings, and discoloured them, added jewellery, fixed skintones, changed sky, fixed lighting tones on the sand, and the sea and a few other little tweaks However, DA is completely and utterly refusing to allow me to update the image, so if you are looking at this image Go Here [link] Print for sale! as for the mermaid, her scales came out very well, however the scales of her arms and chest are kind of creepy her hair is very well done too, I've always liked the strand look but could never do it
the guy is very good too, you've done well with his anatomy and the shading on his skin, also, his pants look nicely textured, they look like jeans if that was the effect you were going for

Over all very good, shading and body work on both of them is simply fantastic!
There's a few things I notice that could be different, the reflection of the concrete pavilion thing is off and a little to strong for wet sand. And where the water comes into contact with the pavilion it should be a little more live, at the moment it looks like it's parting and going around the pillar.
