1) When did you first start doing what you do as an artist (drawing, emoting, painting, photography, prose/poetry)?
Drawing, I started as a kid, with all the other kids- i just never grew out of it.  Painting, I started properly digitally painting in college, in 2003, and jewellery making in 2004 emoting, 2005, and working on my novel series, at 14, in high school.  Um... '97.

2) What's your favorite medium?
I'm loving photoshop.  I consider sometimes that perhaps i should do more analogue and waterpaint/ink work, and then I think, why?  Photoshop and print media are so much more flexible.

3) Who's your favorite artist? It can be on or off DA.
Boris Vallejo is a big one, *nebezial is an an inspiration- he knows when to put in loads of details, and when not to, so as to draw attention where it's wanted.  I love `mjranum-stock's photography, both on his stock, and his art account, he has a wonderful sense of balance and interest, and wonderful models.  Sorry no singular "one fave"

4) Do you like listening to music when you make art? If so, what's your favorite genre, artist, or song to listen to?
Music is a must- I simply cannot paint properly without music, and it depends on my mood.  If I'm painting something I need to be aggressive, then its rock music, if something ethereal, something middle eastern sounding, if I'm illustrating for a scene in my novel, film scores fit the bill (Hans Zimmer ftwwww!)

5) Black and white or color?

6) Would you rather make art to make others happy or make art to make yourself happy?
Making others happy DOES make myself happy.  Making art full stop makes me happy.  I... make art to satisfy myself, my needs, but i execute it in a way that I hope also pleases others.  Hence nothing really disturbing in my gallery.

7) Describe your workspace.
XD pig sty.  My computer desk is my nest- I have jewellery, books, a mirror, some makeup, a waterbottle, hair spray and straightening iron, hair clips, sunglasses, reading glasses, a rack of earrings... ahem

8) What kinds of art do you really enjoy looking at?
Clean, bright, intricate.  I like fantasy art, or stylized reality.  Wonderful costumes that tell a story.  Something that involves the eyes and mind

9) Stealing from =CubicInsanity, what do your friends and family think of your art?
my Dad used to be very dismissive, because he didn't understand that anything NOT involving oil paints could be considered legitimate art, but he came to understand so.  He died of cancer last year, and the last semi-coherent thing he said to me, was about my art, and that people would come to my gallery to see my art in the flesh, and to see me, because it was unique and worth it.  We thought he wasn't even with us, let alone able to string together the long sentence he did, so that says a lot.
Mum's always been supportive, even if she didn't 'get it'.

10) What's your favorite deviation from your own gallery?
Hm, tough one... I put an awful lot of work into this one   so I'm tempted to name it, but then I think this is a pretty damn good portrait of my husband :3 so obviously biased.  I really like my Leviathan too o0   so it'd be between those three.

11) Do you take criticism [on your art] personally or do you use it to become better?
To be honest I'd have to say both, but I HOPE i manage to use it to become better- i try to keep that in mind. Of course.. I've come across a lot of people who are just being a smart-ass, rather than actually critiquing.  In that case, its annoying otherwise its helpful! <3
